Apollo (API-First)

Using Apollo's API directly for contact search and enrichment instead of the web UI. The first-run source of truth for contact data in a programmable stack.

by Shawn Tenam

למה זה חשוב

Apollo's UI and Apollo's API are the same database with two very different economics. the UI meters you through a browser session built for one rep clicking around. the API lets a script enrich a thousand contacts in one run, on a flat plan, with every result landing in your own dataset instead of a vendor's saved list. running Apollo API-first also changes its role: it stops being a prospecting tool someone logs into and becomes the first provider in the waterfall. the script hits Apollo first because its hit rate on verified contact data is strong, and only the gaps flow to the next provider. that ordering alone cuts enrichment spend.

איך אני משתמש בזה

Apollo is the first call in my enrichment waterfall. the script queries the API for each contact, writes results to the data lake with a timestamp, and flags the misses. on a recent batch the Apollo-first pass covered the bulk of contacts that had emails available, and Prospeo picked up net-new finds on the remainder. I never enrich through the UI. everything runs through scripts so the results are queryable later: which provider found this email, when, and at what confidence. that history is what makes the next campaign cheaper than the last one.
