the post itself is the real troll, even if unintentional. someone vibed an AI trader into existence in two days, tested it with $100 per trade, won 24 straight, made $2,200, and then... announced they were going to give the money to their mom.

r/vibecoding didn't hold back. u/SnooCats9602 dropped "a tale as old as time" because this exact story has been posted approximately 11,000 times across every trading subreddit since 2016. u/realityhiphop added the cherry on top with "Today was not the day to test it, we had one of the biggest market manipulation events in history in all caps lol" (97 upvotes).

to be clear: I'm not saying the trader doesn't work. I'm saying 24 straight wins on a day with historic market manipulation is less "I built a genius algorithm" and more "I accidentally surfed a tsunami and called it swimming." 177 comments deep and counting. the thread is pure entertainment.

fun facts

• the go-to-bed epidemic is real. at least three separate posts today mention Claude telling users to stop working and go to sleep. u/Dr23ciao confirmed "i tought my claude was the only one doing this, it's so fucking annoying." Opus 4.6 has apparently unionized on behalf of your circadian rhythm.
